Delegate Terry Walker, District 56
"I'm looking to bring both balance and purpose from the Eastern Panhandle to Charleston.
The committees I've been assigned to are: Government Organization, Political subdivisions, and Banking and Insurance. These areas will command most of my attention as I continue to carve out my path. Other areas of concern will be: Education - Teachers need better wages and more autonomy. We need to concentrate more on math, science and technology. Economic Development - We legislators need to enhance and create an environment where the private sector, small business and entrepreneurs alike can be successful and prosperous, giving our communities a sense of self-ownership. Tourism and Agriculture - We need to continue to foster what we have right in our own back yard; both expanding and developing these trade areas will provide an economic boost as well as diversify our state and local portfolio.
Again, I am excited
to serve the fine folks of West Virginia everywhere.
John Marshall once stated: "To listen well is as powerful a means of communication
and influence as to talk well." I'll be listening in Charleston as well as here at home and around the state. My office door will
always be open and my phone available.
Dear Middleway Voters:
First and foremost I love the State of
My dad or mom never ran for office but have always been involved in politics and instilled in my brothers and sister interest in public affairs. Many discussions were held at the dinner table regarding various issues and we were encouged to express our own point of view.
Close to 25 years of service with Roadway Express, as a sales and marketing manager has given me the background in organizational behavior and team management. Eleven transfers and several states later I’m blessed to be living and working in my home town where I grew up close to family and friends. Now self employed as a Realtor and businessman I would like to give back to the state that has given my family such a rich sense of valued pride.
My affiliation with several organizations such as VP of the Kiwanis, MADD, Shepherd University Athletics, First TEE of WV, TLW Scholarship Fund, Nation Association of Realtors, Eastern Panhandle Board of Realtors, serving as a board of director for Eastern WV Community Foundation and the institution of marriage for 28 years has given me the necessary insight and qualifications for this opportunity.

I am proud and honored to have this opportunity to represent the people of the 56th district and work on legislation that will improve the lives of West Virginians all over the state.
Respectfully,
Delegate Terry L. Walker
