"Terry Walker is an excellent choice for this House seat," Manchin stated in a related press release. Governor Joe Manchin announced his appointment of Terry Walker to fill Delegate Bob Tabb's seat at the dedication and groundbreaking of Route 9 east which when completed will connect with the Virginia line. Mancjhin said, "Terry is involved in his community and he will bring a clear, strong and balanced voice to Charleston. I am confident that he will represent the residents of Berkeley and Jefferson Counties well."

Democrat Walker brings more than 25 years experience working in corporate America. He has worked in business and marketing, and he currently runs his own real estate office in Shepherdstown.

Terry also has experience as an educator, and the state's educational system is something he hopes to focus on in his new position.

He will fill out the remainder of Tabb's term, which expires at the end of 2010.

Governor Manchin pledged his support Delegate Terry Walker.

"I have committed everything I have in me to make sure he stays your new delegate," Manchin told an auditorium full of people who had assembled at Washington High School for a groundbreaking ceremony for construction on W. Va. 9.

Dear Middleway Voters:

First and foremost I love the State of West Virginia and have a genuine interest in seeing it become a shinning light of the country. At the top of the country and not the bottom.

My dad or mom never ran for office but have always been involved in politics and instilled in my brothers and sister interest in public affairs. Many discussions were held at the dinner table regarding various issues and we were encouged to express our own point of view.

Close to 25 years of service with Roadway Express, as a sales and marketing manager has given me the background in organizational behavior and team management. Eleven transfers and several states later I’m blessed to be living and working in my home town where I grew up close to family and friends. Now self employed as a Realtor and businessman I would like to give back to the state that has given my family such a rich sense of valued pride.

would like to be considered for the vacancy of Bob Tabb in the 56th district. My involvement with many functions held at Ed and Gail Boobers home for Bob Tabb, Justice Gina Groh, Justice Elliot Maynard, and even hosting Governor Joe Manchin along with other political functions has influenced me to make this decision.

As a self employed resident of Jefferson County I realize many of the needs of people who expect the very best for this state. I want to be that voice that will represent the very folks I live and work around everyday with honesty, integrity, commitment and the ability to work hard. Hopefully, with God’s blessing this will be the start of my opportunity to be the voice of the 56th district for years to come.

I am proud and honored to have this opportunity to represent the people of the 56th district and work on legislation that will improve the lives of West Virginians all over the state.

My affiliation with several organizations such as VP of the Kiwanis, MADD, Shepherd University Athletics, First TEE of WV, TLW Scholarship Fund, Nation Association of Realtors, Eastern Panhandle Board of Realtors, serving as a board of director for Eastern WV Community Foundation and the institution of marriage for 28 years has given me the necessary insight and qualifications for this opportunity.

Terry L. Walker
